SEGAMAT: A foreign man was killed after being run over by a car at KM1.5 on Jalan Segamat-Kuantan here.

       Segamat OCPD Supt Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident occurred around 5pm on Wednesday (March 2) when the victim, in his 30s, was walking home from work.

       “The victim was crossing the road before he was run over by a car that was heading from Taman Yayasan towards Buloh Kasap. The car was driven by a woman in her 30s.

       “The man was flung to the side of the road and suffered serious injuries to his head and body,” he said in a statement here on Thursday (March 3).

       He added that the body had been brought to Hospital Segamat for a post- mortem.

       The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987.

       “We would like to call upon any witnesses to the incident to come forward and help with the investigation.
