King visits villagers in Pulau Tioman, presents donations

       KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended the “Ziarah Kasih” programme in Kampung Mukut, Pulau Tioman, Pahang.

       Istana Negara in a statement posted on its official Facebook page said Sultan Abdullah spent almost two hours getting acquainted with the villagers.

       Accompanying him were his children, Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah, Tengku Puteri Ilisha Ameera, Tengku Puteri Iliyana, Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafizatullah and Tengku Puteri Jihan Azizah ‘Athiyatullah.

       "His Majesty also presented donations to 10 asnaf (tithe recipients) families and four mosques and surau in the village in conjunction with the Ramadan month,” it said, adding that he also presented contributions to 25 asnaf students of SK Kampung Mukut.

       During the visit, Sultan Abdullah also took the time to inspect new houses that were built for asnaf families, an aid programme under the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council, it said.

       It said on March 29 and 30, His Majesty visited Kampung Tekek and Kampung Juara, Pulau Tioman under the Ziarah Kasih programme and handed over donations to those in need.

       It added that he also spent time listening to the demands and needs of the locals who had also shared their views to further improve facilities for the convenience of the residents in the three villages. - Bernama
