PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob pays a visit to his predecessor Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin after being sworn in as Malaysia's ninth Prime Minister.
Muhyiddin welcomed Ismail Sabri to his home and pledged support for the new prime minister.
“I received a visit from Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at my residence this afternoon. I would like to express the highest congratulations to him on his appointment as Prime Minister,” said Muhyiddin in a Facebook post Saturday (Aug 21) evening.
“I give my full support to him and Insyallah, I will continue to help the Perikatan Nasional Government to deliver the best service to the people, especially during the country's recovery period,” Muhyiddin added.
“I pray for Ismail Sabri to carry the trust and leadership as best possible and steer the country to the pinnacle of success.”
Earlier Saturday, Ismail Sabri was sworn in as the ninth Prime Minister at Istana Negara. He took over from Muhyiddin, who resigned from the premiership on Monday.
