NAROWAL: The bodies of two children, who drowned in the BRB Upper Chenab Canal, were recovered by Rescue 1122 five days after the incident.
According to Rescue 1122 Sialkot spokesperson Mohammad Wasim, 10-year-old Ahmad Ali and 14-year-old Haider Ali were bathing in the Upper Chenab Canal in Tehsil Daska when they accidentally went into deep water and drowned.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene immediately and launched a search operation.

Rescue 1122 divers continued the search over several days. Ahmad Ali’s body was recovered three days later from the BRB Canal near Kasur, while Haider Ali’s body was found five days later in Mianwali Bangla, Tehsil Pasrur. Both bodies were handed over to their families after completing legal formalities.
Meanwhile, Sialkot Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali has imposed Section 144, banning bathing in rivers, canals, and rainwater channels. The police have been directed to strictly enforce the ban.
