A man in his mid-30s fell over a railing while trying to walk down the stairs of a CTA Blue Line platform in the Logan Square neighborhood Tuesday night.
The man fell approximately 30 feet from the station to the street below, around 8:35 p.m., according to a police notification. The accident was reported at the Western station, 1900 N. Western Ave., police said.
The man was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, which had not yet identified the man.
Officials said the man was possibly intoxicated at the time of the fatal accident.
