KEPALA BATAS: An 18-year-old factory worker from Seberang Jaya died after crashing his motorcycle into a utility pole at Jalan Sungai Dua here.

       North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said his men were alerted by the public at 8.05am on Monday (Aug 23).

       “We believe the accident happened after the motorcyclist lost control of his bike before crashing into the pole on the left side of the road.

       “The victim died at the scene due to injuries to his head and body.

       “A post-mortem will be conducted at the Kepala Batas Hospital forensic unit," he said.

       ACP Noorzainy added the case will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

       “We urge all road users to always follow traffic rules and be careful when they are on the road.

       “The public should stay at home if there are no important matters to help flatten the Covid-19 curve,” he said in a statement.
