SABAK BERNAM: A housewife found a premature foetus in a bag buried near her house on Friday (March 11).

       Siti Rodziah Abd Majid, 54 discovered the foetus 15m from her house while watering her plants at 8.30am.

       "I was suspicious as there were marks of earth being dug up near the banana plants and I told my son to check," Sinar Harian quoted her as saying.

       "All I could do was say a long prayer after finding the foetus in the bag as I panicked and later made a police report.

       "There weren't any unusual or suspicious sounds other than wild boars and dogs," she added.

       Sabak Bernam OCPD Supt Agus Salim Alias confirmed the incident and said the foetus was sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Jemaah for investigation.

       "Tests showed that it was a premature foetus, roughly 20 weeks old.

       Supt Agus said police had detained a 20-year-old man to assist in the investigation under Section 315 of the Penal Code for an act done to prevent a child from being born alive, or to cause it to die after birth.
