PETALING JAYA: The Dewan Negara will debate a motion on the MySejahtera application on Thursday (March 31) afternoon, says its president Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim.

       Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had earlier tweeted that he would be in the Dewan Negara at 5pm on Thursday to answer questions on the MySejahtera issue.

       "The Health Ministry always takes the issue of personal data confidentiality and transparent procurement seriously.

       "Since the Senate is still sitting, I will address some issues related to MySejahtera later in the afternoon," he said in his tweet on Thursday.

       Khairy also said that he would testify before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the issue later.

       On Wednesday (March 30), PAC chairman Wong Kah Woh said the committee would probe the MySejahtera issue and would call Khairy and Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, among others, to testify.

       On Tuesday (March 29), Khairy had asked the Dewan Negara Speaker to allow a motion for MySejahtera matters to be debated in the House.

       Khairy acknowledged the public’s concerns that their personal data might be abused and reassured that the matter will be answered in the Senate sitting.
