PETALING JAYA: The Semenyih 2 Water Treatment Plant (WTP) has resumed operations as of 7am Monday (Dec 20), after it was shut down on Sunday (Dec 19) due to the floods, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd.
The water concessionaire said the water supply from the Semenyih 2 WTP was expected to be fully restored by 10pm Monday.
On Sunday (Dec 19), Air Selangor had shut down four water treatment plants - Semenyih 2, Sg Langat, Langat 2, Cheras Batu 11 - due to the floods.
The Sg Langat WTP had also fully resumed operations as of 7am Monday, and Air Selangor will provide updates on the supply recovery process later.
At the Langat 2 WTP, the raw water pumping process had commenced and Air Selangor will provide updates on the supply recovery process.
The Cheras Batu 11 WTP is still being cleaned following the floods, and is not yet operational.
"The expected time for full operations at the Cheras Batu 11 WTP has yet to be confirmed. It is crucial to ensure that all equipment at the plant is in good shape before resuming operations," Air Selangor said.
It added that water tankers would continue to be mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises.
It said it would provide updates from time to time through its communication channels such as the app, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
