Two syndicates crippled, drugs worth over RM1.7mil seized in raids by KL cops

       KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized over RM1.7mil worth of drugs and crippled two syndicates here.

       City deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Yahaya Othman said they conducted a series of raids between Monday (Nov 15) and Wednesday (Nov 17) and arrested three suspects.

       "We first arrested a 31-year-old man and a 28-year-old man at a parking lot along Jalan Sultan Sulaiman, Kg Baru and seized 22.5kg of ganja and 2,800 Erimin 5 pills.

       We then were led to a condominium at Jalan Tun Razak where we seized RM32,832 cash," he told reporters on Thursday (Nov 18).

       He said they arrested a third suspect, aged 30, on Wednesday and seized 780g of ganja and RM128 cash at a condominium parking lot in Selayang.

       "We were then led to an apartment where we seized 8.22kg of ganja," he said, adding that in total police seized 31.51kg of ganja and 2,800 Erimin 5 pills worth RM122,025, and RM31,958 cash.

       Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, DCP Yahaya said his personnel arrested a man and seized over RM1.52mil worth of drugs after raiding a storage facility in Kampung Baru Cheras.

       "We raided the premises and arrested the 36-year-old suspect and seized 20.66kg of ketamine, 7.4kg of syabu and 3.3kg of ecstasy.

       "We were tipped off by members of the public over suspicious activity at the premises," he said, adding that the suspect was believed to be using the place as a store.

       He said all the suspects have been remanded to help with further investigations.
