PENANG: Integrated logistics service provider Swift Haulage Bhd took delivery of 10 Volvo FM440 prime movers from Volvo Trucks Malaysia.

       In a statement, the company said this delivery was the first batch of a total order of 30 Volvo FM440 prime movers that will be handed over to Swift over the next one year.

       Swift said the purchase of 30 units of Volvo FM440 prime movers was part of its ongoing fleet expansion programme.

       “These prime movers will be strategically deployed/ assigned to support the newly extended warehouse in Seberang Prai, Penang and

       expansion in Taiping with new branch operations,” it said, adding that the warehouse extension added 107,000 sq ft of capacity.

       Group CEO Loo Yong Hui said: “Our newly expanded Seberang Prai warehouse has started operations, while our Taiping office has opened, and we took delivery of ten Volvo FM440 prime movers.

       “The handover of the prime movers from Volvo Trucks Malaysia is timely as it coincides with the commencement of operations in our Seberang Prai warehouse,” he said.

       “We plan our fleet expansions strategically so that we are able to serve our customers better. The additional warehouse capacity will be well supported by the additional Volvo prime movers, leading to better service levels and increased customer satisfaction,” he added.
