SEREMBAN: Two senior officers of the Royal Malaysian Navy suffered light injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a cow along the North-South Expressway early Monday (March 21).
Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Nanda Maarof said Lt Kdr Mohamad Azmi Ibrahim, 39, was driving a four-wheel drive vehicle while Kdr Mohd Reduan Ayub, 42, was seated in the front passenger seat when the accident happened at 3.15am at KM249.7 of the expressway.
Both were based at the Lumut Navy base in Perak.
"The officers were believed to have been heading back to Lumut from Kulai in Johor when the accident happened.
"They were driving along the right lane when they were believed to have hit the animal," he said in a statement.
ACP Nanda said the impact of the crash caused the vehicle to spin and eventually come to a stop at the left lane.
He said the weather was good when the mishap took place.
However, the particular stretch was dark as there were no lights put up along the northbound lane.
