KOTA KINABALU: Police arrested two men for allegedly hijacking a motorcycle from a food delivery man in Tawau.
Tawau district police chief Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin said the two suspects were arrested at a farm they were working at in the Bombalai area on Wednesday (April 6).
Police recovered the motorcycle on the same day, he said in a statement on Thursday (April 7).
According to ACP Jasmin, the suspects who were foreign workers, aged 31 and 33, had initially called for a food delivery to be sent to a row of shops in Taman Semarak, Tawau, at 11.30am on Monday (April 4).
"When the victim arrived, one of the suspects threatened the victim and the other ordered him to get off his motorcycle.
"The victim complied and the two fled on the motorcycle," he said, adding that the victim then lodged a police report at 1.20am on Tuesday (April 5).
ACP Jasmin said a police team from Tawau with the help of auxiliary policemen arrested the two suspects in separate raids at the farm.
He said the duo were being investigated for robbery.
