PETALING JAYA: The Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ) has carried out many charitable and philanthropic works for Johoreans who are facing difficult times and disasters, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said people of Johor who faced difficult times or disasters as well as those in need have received assistance from YSIJ.

Dr Wee, who is also the MCA president, said this after meeting with YSIJ board of trustees members Datuk Avinderjit Singh and Datuk Mejar Cina David Wong Khong Soon.

“Last night (May 2), together with Johor health and unity committee chairman cum Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tian Soon and the Johor investment, trade and consumer affairs committee chairman cum Paloh assemblyman Lee Ting Han, we had a meeting with YSIJ board of trustees members Datuk Avinderjit Singh and Datuk Mejar Cina David Wong Khong Soon.

“We were briefed by Datuk Avinderjit and Datuk Mejar Cina David Wong on the welfare efforts that YSIJ has implemented over the years for the benefit of the people and the state of Johor,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (May 4).

YSIJ is a charity foundation that was established by Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar with the aim of helping the people.

Dr Wee added that Avinderjit and Wong are two YSIJ leaders who always upheld the command of Sultan Ibrahim to help the people in need.

“Congratulations and well done to the entire YSIJ team!” he said.
