KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Investment Bank (Maybank IB) has launched its official Telegram channel named ‘Trade with Maybank’ to provide bite-sized stock market-related content to investors.

       “Investors and traders can benefit from first-hand trading ideas, research material, technical and fundamental analyses and educational pieces that are specially curated by subject matter experts of Maybank IB,” it said in a statement.

       It added that subscribers will also receive invitations to webinars and events as well as market news and announcements.

       “We have seen growing retail participation in the local equity markets and natural demand for more sophisticated products as they look to diversify their portfolios and better capture market opportunities,” investment management head Azzahir Azhar.

       Reflecting this trend, Maybank IB’s warrant issuances almost doubled from 107 in 2019 to 204 in 2021.

       For the full year 2021, Maybank IB was the number one structured warrant issuer in Malaysia with average market share of 24% based on units of warrants outstanding.

       “With this Telegram channel, we aim to bring them high quality, actionable ideas. As a responsible capital market participant, we are also committed to proactively educating investors to help them on their investing journey,” Azzahir said.
