PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad continued his attack on Datuk Seri Najib Razak, saying that he will keep calling the former premier a criminal.
Dr Mahathir compared Najib to his late father Tun Abdul Razak Hussein.
"His (Tun Abduk Razak) name and the growth of Malaysia are closely intertwined. When you mention Malaysia, the name Tun Razak is mentioned together.
"But when Tun Razak passed away, his oldest son was mentioned as his successor. But no one links his name to the country.
"Unfortunately, Najib chose to be associated with crime. Unlike his father, Najib saw power as a means to enrich himself," he claimed on his blog chedet.cc.
Dr Mahathir went on to say that Najib then called himself a “boss”.
"Giving himself the name of boss, and that no one should be shy when the boss steals," he wrote, alluding to the popular "malu apa bossku" slogan commonly associated with Najib.
Previously, Dr Mahathir has slammed Najib while campaigning ahead of the Johor election.
He alluded that the former premier was trying to win back power to escape punishment from his convictions.
On July 28, 2020, the High Court sentenced Najib to 12 years in jail and fined RM210mil after he was found guilty of seven charges of criminal breach of trust, money laundering and abuse of position involving RM42mil funds from SRC International Sdn Bhd.
Najib lost his appeal at the appellate court and has filed an appeal to the Federal Court.
