Deputy IGP: Over two million premises checked for SOP compliance under Ops Patuh

       JOHOR BARU: Police have inspected more than two million premises nationwide for Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance under Ops Patuh.

       Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said they included factories, construction sites, workers’ accommodations and businesses.

       He said throughout the operation from June 25 to Oct 2, a total of 4,622 premises were ordered to close and compound notices totalling RM7,740 were issued to companies and individuals.

       “We have 14,999 police personnel in 3,442 teams carrying out inspections and monitoring efforts under Ops Patuh. We will continue our efforts to find businesses operating without an approval letter from the International Trade and Industry Ministry as well as those that do not comply with the SOP in general.

       “All parties are advised to keep adhering to SOP as our objective is to protect the people and ensure their safety,” he told a press conference at Johor police headquarters on Sunday (Oct 3).

       Earlier, Mazlan handed out aid to 20 retired policemen who are finding it difficult to get by.due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
