KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s daily Covid-19 cases have dipped below the 200-mark for the first time since Jan 24.
State Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said 194 new cases were reported yesterday, a drop of 51 cases compared with Sunday.
Kota Kinabalu recorded only 55 new cases yesterday after seeing an increasing trend a day earlier.
“The drop in cases in Kota Kinabalu is one of the main factors contributing to the lower number of cases across the state,” Masidi said.
Apart from Kota Kinabalu, four other districts recorded double digits – Tuaran (26), Papar (18), Sandakan (11) and Tawau (10).
“A total of 18 districts recorded a single-digit number of new cases,” Masidi said, adding that Semporna, Nabawan, Tongod and Kalabakan districts did not record any new infections.
He added that only four clusters remained active, declaring three clusters – Pengkalan Abai (Kota Belud), Jalan Beluran Lama (Beluran) and Batu Enam (Kota Belud) – as over.
