An escaped mental health patient considered a risk to women walked from from court after attacking two police officers less than four months ago.

The Met Police last Thursday issued an urgent appeal to the public to help trace Balasankar Narayanan, 44, who was last seen at 6:40pm on Sunday, August 4 when he ran off from staff at a park while on escorted leave.

The force confirmed late on Friday that he had been located.

A Met Police spokesperson said during the manhunt: "While our investigation to locate Balasankar continues, we are appealing to the public to help locate him.

"He can be violent and is considered a risk to women – if you see him please don’t approach him, but call police immediately."

Express.co.uk cannow reveal that on April he appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates Court when he admitted assaulting an emergecy worker (a police officer) in Southall.

He also admitted assaulted a custody officer in a police station in Acton the same day on March 27 2023.

It is not clear if it was during an absconsion from a care home in Ilford where the court said he resided.

But, despite the serious nature of the offending, he left court a free man with a conditional discharge for 6 months, with no court costs or compensation to pay and just a victim surcharge of £26.

We also revaled that, according to previous police appeals released by the same force, he absconded twice last year and another time in 2021.

In an appeal issued on September 22 last year, the Met said he absconded a day earlier.

The appeal said: "We suspect he may be using the rail network and urge any staff and travellers to report any sightings of him immediately. He could potentially be anywhere in the country."

A similar appeal with the same warnings was issued on June 21 last year after he slipped away from carers on June 18.

It is not clear in each of these cases when he was found.

There was an earlier appeal released by the Met on October 10 2021 saying that he absconded on October 7.

At the time Detective Inspector Sean Treweek said: “We have made extensive enquiries to locate this man and those enquiries are ongoing. Balasankar Narayanan can be violent – if you see him please don’t approach him, but call police immediately.”

On each occasion, Narayanan was said to have absconded from an Ilford care home.

Narayanan is listed as living at a small care home in east London, that was converted from a residential home run by private care provider and houses three patients in a busy residential street.

Details about the facility on its website said: "It is a homely and pleasant accommodation ideal for a numerous mental health-related care needs, including challenging behaviour, learning disabilities who may also be known to the Forensic services.

"Residents and their families can enjoy the peace of mind that having skilled and efficient carers on hand around the clock can offer, at the same time as benefitting from an environment that promotes personal interests and a good social atmosphere.

"Residents benefit from individualised tailored activities that support their rehabilitation and recovery. They benefit from our breath-taking landscaped garden."

Express.co.uk has contacted the care firm for comment and the Met Police for details on any other times he may have absconded.

The care firm has not responded and police refused to provide any further details.
