TSA spokeswoman Alexa Lopez said two security checkpoints inside the airport were closed as a precaution. Officials also shut down the road to the terminal.
After the vehicle was cleared, the checkpoints were reopened, Lopez said, and vehicles were able to access the terminal using an upper roadway.
Earlier Wednesday, vehicle traffic approaching the airport wasn’t allowed near the terminal. Those inside the terminal were asked to remain in place, according to airport officials.
Interstate 195 approaching the airport at Aviation Boulevard was closed to traffic during the investigation, according to the Maryland Department of Emergency Management.
