PRITI Patel has launched a nationwide hunt for a high-flying officer to become the next head of Scotland Yard.
The Home Secretary wants senior officers to identify and nurture fresh talent working in a force outside London.

She hopes promising candidates will be promoted to roles where they can shine and prove they are fit to take on the challenging role.
Ms Patel has given Dame Cressida Dick a two-year extension to her contract as Metropolitan Police Commissioner to give time to find a suitable replacement.
But her team of headhunters have been ordered to get cracking.
An insider said: “There’s no time to lose.”
