Archewell Productions, the Netflix-based shingle launched by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, is getting into the animation business. The Duchess of Sussex, is the creator behind “Pearl", described as a “family series that centers on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl, who is inspired by a variety of influential women from history". Meghan said in a statement: “Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges.

       "I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history.

       "David Furnish and I have been eager to bring this special series to light, and I am delighted we are able to announce it today.”

       “Pearl” is the first animated series coming out of Archewell Productions.

       Last autumn, Meghan and Prince Harry signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce documentaries, feature films, scripted television shows and children’s series.

       Many are wondering whether Meghan's next move will be returning to acting, though.

       Before she joined the Royal Family in 2018, Meghan was a successful actress and her big break was her appearance on legal drama Suits.

       She played Rachel Zane in the hit show from 2011 to 2018 and recorded more than 100 episodes in its seven seasons.

       While the Duchess has given no indication she might return to acting, co-CEO Reed Hastings did not rule it out when asked about it last year.

       He told CNBC: "The real focus for them is on being producers and on building that production capacity.

       "So, that's the key thing and they have developed a great eye for a story and we will work with them on that basis."

       While Meghan has produced "Pearl", the Duke of Sussex has recently announced he will share "mistakes and lessons learned" during his life in a memoir due to be published next year.

       As he disclosed the deal with publishers Penguin Random House, Prince Harry said he would reflect "the highs and lows" and be "accurate and wholly truthful".

       Harry, who alongside his wife Meghan stepped back from royal duties and relocated to California, US, will donate proceeds to charity.

       The Duke said in a statement: "I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.

       "I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story - the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned - I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

       "I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first hand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful."

       The announcement of the book, the first time a prominent member of the Royal Family has ever written such a personal account of their life, reportedly took the Windsors by surprise.

       One source told The Times it was greeted within the royal households with “big sighs” and another one close to Prince Charles said they were “surprised” by the news.
