KUALA LUMPUR: Police personnel arrested three men in Taman Connaught here after drugs were found in their car on Wednesday (Oct 27).

       Police seized 500 Erimin 5 pills and four packages filled with 1,033g ketum leafs worth a total of RM7,500.

       Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said police personnel were patrolling the area when they stumbled upon the suspects, aged between 19 and 37 years old, in a car at about 2.20pm on Wednesday (Oct 27).

       "The police personnel stopped the vehicle and discovered nothing incriminating on the suspects.

       "However, the drugs were discovered upon checking the car," he told a press conference at Cheras police headquarters on Thursday (Oct 28).

       Police are investigating the source of the drugs and the extent of the syndicate, he said.

       "We are investigating under various angles, including Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. We will investigate further to discover how long they have been operating," he added.

       ACP Muhammad Idzam also urged those with information on any crime to contact Cheras police at 03-92050222 or any nearest police station.
