GORDON Brown’s former spin doctor has been appointed to a ￡150,000 role leading Labour’s “reset” with the European Union.
Michael Ellam, who was Downing Street director of communications when Mr Brown was Prime Minister, will become Sir Keir Starmer’s top adviser on Europe after being appointed Second Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office.
