PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 6,045 new cases, bringing the nation's cumulative total to 778,652.
In a tweet on Sunday (July 4), the Health Ministry said of the figure, 6,025 were local infections while 20 were imported cases.
Another 63 people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country's death toll to 5,497.
It also said there were 5,271 recoveries for a total of 705,486 to date.
The number of active cases is now 67,669.
Of this number, 917 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 443 requiring ventilator support.
Selangor remained as the state with the most daily cases with 2,262 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (616), Negri Sembilan (531) Johor (500), Perak (384), Sarawak (365), Kedah (332), Melaka (290), Sabah (228), Penang (173), Kelantan (124), Pahang (95), Labuan (75), Terengganu (54) and Putrajaya (16).
Perlis recorded zero cases.
