KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: In view of information posted on some social media platforms that a restaurant is serving sick horse meat to its customers, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) confirmed that its inspection tours in food establishments continue 24 hours a day, reports Al-Jarida daily. Through these tours, samples are taken for periodic examination to ensure the meals served are suitable for human consumption and conform with the approved specifications.

So far, the inspectors have not seen any food establishment serving sick horse meat, the authority affirmed. The authority pointed out that it has provided various channels for submitting serious complaints related to food and nutrition – through its centers in the governorates, its website, and the designated telephone or WhatsApp number. The authority called on everyone to verify the information before publication and to obtain it only from official source
