       An F-16 fighter jet that reportedly belonged to the Oklahoma National Guard crashed near a U.S. Army base in Louisiana on Wednesday.

       The F-16 fighter jet crashed near Ft. Polk in Louisiana, and the pilot ejected with no injuries, a Louisiana State Police spokesperson told The Advocate.

       "The pilot was able to eject safely from the plane and was later picked up by the military personnel," he said.

       There were no others on board, according to the police.

       According to 2 News Oklahoma, Maj. Alexander Drummond was the pilot of the F-16 that crashed, but safely ejected before the aircraft crashed.

       The aircraft crashed in Beauregard, Louisiana, according to the report.

       Maj. Drummond was part of a training mission that originated from Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base in Houston, Texas, according to the report.
