Speaking to GB News a year on from the UK severing ties with the EU, the former Brexit Party MEP said: “The Tory wheel is a very confused one. It’s got loads of Remainers still in the party and it has got a Brexit hardcore faction. “And Lord Frost is torn between these two - nobody really knows if Lord Frost is a Remainer or a Brexiteer by the way. "Nobody knows how he voted in 2016. It’s very dangerous to think of Lord Frost as the embodiment of what Brexiteers want.”

       Addressing Lord Frost’s decision to quit Boris Johnson’s Cabinet, he said: “I think he knew that we were going to capitulate on the Northern Ireland Protocol and he knew that we were going to get some sort of fudge on the European Court of Justice’s supremacy over Northern Ireland and he felt he just hand to leave before that happened.”

       Separately, the BBC's Faisal Islam has outlined a "really big mystery" in the post-Brexit relationship between the UK and European Union.

       Evaluating the impact of Brexit on small British businesses, the BBC's Economics Editor looked at the trade volume of cars from the EU to the UK and said: "So the really big mystery is why EU imports into the UK have fallen more than the other way around."

       He explained: "Partly it's a result of the general post-pandemic fall in vehicle sales, down ￡14bn or 30 percent in the first 10 months of this year versus 2019."

       Mr Islam pointed out though that non-EU imports went up 16 percent during the same period, which he attributed in part to Tesla vehicles coming in from the US and China – fuelling the electric car boom and helping overall car sales.
