KLUANG: The fire and rescue department rescued a total of 18 people from five families after their houses in Jalan Senda and Jalan Damai were inundated with water, here.
Renggam Fire and Rescue Department operation commander senior officer Ismail Rahmat said that the families had been moved to Sekolah Kebangsaan Jubli Renggam’s temporary relief centre (PPS) at about 5pm.
“The rescue operation was also joined by the police, where 16 male victims, one female and one child, were evacuated during the operation.
“The water has started to recede after the rain stopped,” he said in a statement here.
He added that surveillance was still conducted in the area.
