Man on the run after allegedly stabbing wife, mother-in-law

       KOTA TINGGI: A 38-year-old has gone missing after allegedly stabbing four family members, including his wife and mother-in-law.

       Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said aside the suspect, Mohd Adi Hashim, also used a parang to stab his wife’s younger sister and teenage brother in Kampung Sedili Kecil here at 7.11pm on Thursday (April 14).

       “The suspect suddenly got angry and started stabbing the four victims who were in the house and fled the scene in his car.

       “The suspect’s two young children, who were also in the house at the time, escaped unhurt and are with their mother,” said Supt Hussin.

       He said that all four victims were severely injured and rushed to Hospital Kota Tinggi.

       “All four are in stable condition and receiving medical treatment,” he said.

       The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and a fine or caning, he added.

       Supt Hussin urged those with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the police at 07-8831 222 or by heading to a nearby police station.
