KULAI: The driver of a white pickup truck which was seen in a viral video colliding into a supercar that was part of a convoy has been arrested by the police here.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the 28-year-old woman was detained at about 1am on Monday (March 21) at the Kulai police headquarters.

"The suspect surrendered herself to the police. A remand order has been obtained against the suspect from the Kulai Magistrate's Court.

"She will be remanded for three days starting from Monday (March 21) until Wednesday (March 23)," he said in a statement here on Monday.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

A video showing a fleet of supercars stopping along KM34 of the North-South Expressway near Sedenak went viral on social media recently.

The video shows heavy traffic along the highway, and the truck forces its way between cars, forcing many to swerve to avoid the vehicle.

However, despite a green supercar moving aside of the road, the truck swerves and hits the luxury vehicle broadside.

In a statement on Monday (March 20), Supt Tok said initial investigations revealed the incident occurred at about 6.10pm on March 18.

He said the truck was being driven in a zig-zag pattern when the collision occurred.

"This led to a scuffle between the two drivers and the convoy of luxury vehicles decided to stop in the middle of the road," he said.
