KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy traffic is seen on major highways on Thursday (May 5) following an increasing number of vehicles plying the routes, as well as several road accidents.
The Malaysian Highway Authority, in a Twitter post, said as at 11.55am, traffic was congested from Lentang to Bukit Tinggi, before and after Kuala Terengganu toll plaza.

Traffic was reported to be heavy from Kuala Kangsar to Terowong, Changkat Jering to Kuala Kangsar, Jawi to Bandar Baharu, Jawi to Bandar Cassia, Bandar Cassia to Juru, Perai to Bukit Tambun, Permatang Pauh to Perai, Permatang Pauh to Sungai Dua and Sungai Petani (S) to Bertam.
Traffic was also congested from Bidor to Sungkai, Sungkai to Bidor, Tapah rest area to Sungkai and Ipoh Selatan to Hentian Simpang Pulai.
Several accidents resulted in traffic crawls from Bidor to Sungkai, Jasin to Tangkak, Sungai Dua to Juru and Juru to Bukit Tambun, according to the PLUS Twitter traffic page.
A 10km congestion was reported in both directions from Sedenak to Kulai.
“An accident along KM150.1 of the North-South Expressway southbound from Juru to Bukit Tambun between Juru to Bukit Tambun resulted in a 2km traffic crawl,” according to PLUS.
Traffic flow heading south was reported to be heavy from Simpang Renggam to Machap, Senawang to Port Dickson in both directions, Jasin to Tangkak and also opposite direction, and at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar from Singapore to Malaysia.
