PETALING JAYA: After being postponed twice, the Umno supreme council is holding a meeting at its headquarters on Friday night (Aug 27).
This will be the first time the supreme council is meeting after its vice-president, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, was appointed the ninth Prime Minister on Aug 21.
Several Umno supreme council members were seen entering Menara Dato Onn earlier at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre.
Among them were party vice-president Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin, and supreme council member, Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin, as well as Datuk Seri Razali Ibrahim, among others.
On Aug 21, Umno called off a special supreme council meeting, which was scheduled that day.
The notice to postpone the meeting was issued by Umno executive secretary, Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan.
