       KUWAIT CITY, March 9: An Amiri decree has been issued for appointing Lieutenant General (Rtd.) Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as first deputy prime minister and interior minister, and Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as deputy prime minister and defense minister. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday at Dar Al-Yamama, with the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah who presented Lieutenant General (Rtd.) Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf as the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Talal Khaled as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense where they swore before His Highness the Amir the oaths of appointment. His Highness the Amir affirmed necessity of increasing efforts to preserve Kuwait’s security, wishing them further success. Several senior officials attended the meeting, (KUNA)
