SHAH ALAM: Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo garnered the highest number of votes during the DAP central executive committee polls at the IDCC Convention Centre here on Sunday (March 20).
Gobind received 1,762 votes followed by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (1,641), Seremban MP Anthony Loke (1,625), Seputeh MP Teresa Kok (1,373) and Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh (1,346) to complete the top five.
They were followed by Bukit Bintang MP Fong Kui Lun (1,341), Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim Chee Keong (1,340), Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng (1,311), Kinrara assemblyman and Selangor exco member Ng Sze Han (1,282), Sekinchan assemblyman and Selangor Speaker Ng Suee Lim (1,279), Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai (1,263), Teluk Intan MP Nga Kor Ming (1,262), Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran (1,226), Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng (1,156) and Penang Senator Lim Hui Ying (1,155) to round up the top 15 of 30 positions within the DAP central executive committee.
According to the party constitution, the delegates will elect 30 central committee members who will then appoint all the top leaders as well as 10 more to the CEC.
