PETALING JAYA: An assemblyman and six top Negri Sembilan PKR grassroots leaders have said that they have lost confidence in the leadership of Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

       The seven are Chuah assemblyperson Michael Yek Diew Ching and leaders of six of the eight PKR branches in Negri Sembilan - Rasah, Port Dickson, Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Seremban.

       "We represent Negri Sembilan PKR members who remain loyal to the struggle of the party and we announce that we have lost confidence in the state party leadership and we believe that a reshuffle must be done at the state top leadership," the group said in a joint statement on Monday (Sept 6).

       The seven claimed that the state party leadership did not show it was interested in making PKR the dominant party in the state administration.

       They also alleged that the head of the state leadership failed to address the problems at the grassroots level, failed to give a holistic solution to address the matter and is not following the party's constitution.

       All seven also said that the head of the state party leadership also failed to give enough attention to the contributions made by the women's wing in defending and capturing the state.

       "(The) Women (state wing) was deprived of its rights and support to carry out activities in order to woo voters," said the group.

       It also listed several other failures including not monitoring the state election machinery in order to defend the state.

       "So, we believe that if the situation persists, Negri Sembilan PKR will face a high risk during the upcoming election.

       "As a memorandum to reject the state leadership, it has been signed by several grassroots and wing leaders that hold position in the state party leadership," they added.
