SEREMBAN: A man captured in a viral video clip behaving aggressively near a traffic light junction here has been undergoing treatment for psychiatric problems at the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital, says the police.
Seremban OCPD ACP Nanda Maarof said the 38-year-old man, who turned up at the district police station here Friday (Feb 11) morning for questioning, had admitted that he was extremely stressed when the incident happened.
"We called the man in after a clip showing an individual screaming and scaring other motorists went viral on Facebook.
"Upon questioning, the man admitted that he was the one in the clip and said that he was stressed and just could not control himself," he said in a statement.
ACP Nanda said no one was injured in the incident that took place on Feb 8.
The case, he said, was being investigated under Section 48(1) of the Road Transport Act for obstruction which carries a fine of between RM1,000 and RM5,000 or a jail term of not less than one year or both.
In the 91-second clip, the man, clad in a blue collared T-shirt and track bottoms, could be seen behaving in a threatening manner at a traffic light junction after alighting from his car.
The traffic light was red when the incident happened near a junction in Ampangan.
However, when the light turned green, he got into his car and drove away.
The clip was recorded by a passenger in a vehicle next to the man's car.
