PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 20,837 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Aug 24), reports the Health Ministry.

       This sees a rise from the 17,672 recorded the day before.

       Cumulatively, the country has had 1,593,602 cases since the pandemic began, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said on Twitter.

       Selangor remained the state with the highest number of cases with 4,645 new infections.

       Sabah is second highest with a state record of 3,376 cases.
