Police plea after youths 'hurl rocks at shoppers' at new £160m designer outlet

Staffordshire Police say the youths were at the shopping centre on April 26 - the same day rocks were thrown at shoppers and staff.

Officers now want to talk to the teenagers in the clip, Birmingham Live reports.

The video shows the youngsters surrounding a security guard on a bridge at the site, with several of them appearing to film the exchange on their mobile phones.

The clip then sees the guard repeatedly ask the boys to "leave the site" as one of them exclaims "we've left the site" before kicking a metal gate.

One boy grabs at the security guard before they run away.

The force said officers were keen to identify the youths in the video.

Information can be passed on by emailing megan.mcandrew@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk or calling 101, quoting incident 599 of 26/04/2021.

It happened just two weeks after the shopping centre, McArthur Glen's seventh designer outlet in the UK, had opened.

It was due to open last autumn but this was delayed due to the Covid pandemic.

There are around 40 high-end stores at the shopping centre, including Ted Baker, Kurt Geiger and Lindt.
