FLORISTS at the Seremban market are devastated after being ordered to close their shops once again, a mere week after reopening, reported Makkal Osai.

The shops were not allowed to operate during the initial stage of movement restrictions but were given permission to resume business last week after many appeals.

One of them, Yogeswari, said they were overjoyed at being allowed to reopen and were hoping to earn some income after weeks without.

However, with Seremban placed under enhanced MCO, they were once again ordered shut without prior notice on Friday by enforcement officers, said the florists.

Makkal Osai reported several retired military personnel as saying.

Retired Sjn Mejar Mathiazhagan Mariappan said the last pension review was carried out in 2004.

Since then, military personnel have received several salary increments. However, those who retired before 2004 received pensions based on their earlier salaries, which were very low.

Many former military members have to continue working or start their own small business to survive.
