MELAKA: Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani and Army chief General Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain (pic) top the list of 695 award recipients in conjunction with the 72nd birthday of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Mohd Ali Rustam on Tuesday (Aug 24).

       The two were awarded the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM) award, which carries the title “Datuk Seri”.

       The Melaka's State Secretary's Office said, in a statement Tuesday, that 14 individuals will receive the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM), which carries the title “Datuk Wira”, including, among others, Melaka police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Majid Ali, and Malaysian soccer legend Datuk Soh Chin Ann.

       Court of Appeal Judge Darryl Goon Siew Chye, Melaka High Court Judge Anselm Charles Fernandis and Perodua Auto Corp executive director Kazuyoshi Nagata are the three individuals awarded the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the title “Datuk”.

       State Legal Adviser Abd Aziz Engan and Melaka Education Trust Fund (Tapem) general manager Mustafa Musa are among the recipients of the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which carries the title “Datuk".

       Bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympic and Malaysian Badminton star Aaron Chia Teng Fong as well as Malaysian Weightlifting Federation's deputy president Ahmad Janius Abdullah who is also the foster father of Philippines gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympic, Hidilyn Diaz have been also awarded with the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (B.C.M).

       The statement also said the investiture ceremony would be held at a later date, once Melaka moves into a safer phase of the National Recovery Plan(NRP).

       Currently, Melaka is still under Phase One of the NRP.
