KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno will send its machinery to assist Barisan Nasional candidates in the Nov 20 Melaka state election.

       Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the state Umno campaign team would compromise its Wanita, Youth and Puteri movements who would camp out in Melaka throughout the campaign period.

       "Our machinery will assist at various polling district areas of various state constituencies in Melaka," he said after a briefing session with the division heads from the Wanita, Youth and Puteri Umno wings here.

       According to Bung, who was also a member of the Umno Supreme Council, the state Umno machinery would campaign more from house to house in small groups to comply with the SOPs set.

       At the briefing, he reminded the party wings to also continue their focus on efforts to strengthen the party through work in their respective divisions.

       "We don't think about other things, our priority is to strengthen the party machinery, when our party is strong and strong we will be respected," he said.

       According to him, the question of candidates and party elections should be set aside first, which is important for Umno to be strong and on the right track to face the next General Election.

       "I always emphasise that Umno has a complete structure of divisions, Wanita, Youth and Puteri and branches. It is through this structure the party can strengthen Umno and we are not seen as weak," he added.
