The incident occurred just after 12:40 p.m. in the parking garage adjacent to the hospital’s emergency room, D.C. police said. The hospital is located at 3800 Reservoir Road NW.
Hospital spokesperson Marianne Worley said six people were treated for injuries in the hospital’s emergency department. One died, two were released and three were still being evaluated, though their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, she said. A D.C. police spokesman said all the victims were adults.
D.C. police identified the person who died as Jewel Regina Bazilio-Bellegarde, 68, of Silver Spring.

Police said a woman driving a 2011 Audi Q5 was trying to make a three-point turn when she accelerated toward a wall. She tried to avoid striking the wall but instead drove toward a valet station where people were waiting for their vehicles, police said.
The driver struck the wall and the pedestrians — five women and one man. Police said the investigation is continuing and no charges had been filed as of Thursday night.
