U.S. Park Police Sgt. Roselyn Norment said officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Swan Boat parking lot at about 3 p.m.
D.C. police spokeswoman Kristen Metzger said that the Park Police officers who first responded could see weapons inside the truck, and called in D.C. officers to search the vehicle.
Norment said police detained two people for questioning. Both people cooperated with officers and were released Saturday afternoon, Norment said, after officers found Airsoft pistols and rifles, which shoot non-lethal pellets.
