At time of writing, four yellow warnings for ice and snow have been issued for Wales, North West England, West Midlands and East Midlands.

       The weather service has said the ice may lead to some injuries from slips and falls on slippery surfaces.

       According to the department, some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

       The department said the warning for ice will remain in place until 10am this morning.
