Oak Park Police Commander Paul Kane said Hernandez and Williams were arrested Saturday evening after the victim’s family cooperated with detectives.
Kane added that police are currently awaiting the results of the Cook County Medical Examiner’s report but said additional charges may yet be filed.
“There are still aspects that are under investigation but there was enough to get those charges out now,” Kane said. “We’re waiting for the medical examiner’s report and that could take awhile.”
On Tuesday, both appeared in bond court and were each given a $500,000 bond.
Oak Park police said anyone with information about the case is asked to call them at (708) 386-3800. Information can also be provided anonymously at (708) 434-1636 or at www.oak-park.us/crimetip.
