A MAN in Tamil Nadu force-fed poison to a teenage girl and sliced his own wrist in an attempted murder-suicide after the girl rejected his advances, Makkal Osai reported.
D. Velmurugan, 20, who lived in Thoothukudi city, was apparently obsessed with the teenager who is from the same village as him.
A few days ago, he turned up at the girl’s house, and told her he loved her. When the girl rejected his advances, the enraged man threatened to kill her.
He attacked her and forcefully poured what was believed to be insect poison into her mouth.
He then drank the same poison and slit his wrist.
Family members who discovered the unconscious pair rushed them to the hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
