PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Merchant Sports and Recreation Club in Johor has been commended for their continuous support for needy communities.

       MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong who expressed his appreciation said the club has played its role to help regardless of race and background.

       "We hope that this Year of the Tiger can give us the spirit and strength to weather the difficult times due to the pandemic, thus restoring the country's economy.

       "I express appreciation to the Malaysian Merchant Sports and Recreation Club, especially the state of Johor, for helping the community in need.

       "The support and role played by NGOs like this is very important to #KeluargaMalaysia regardless of race and background.

       "Thank you to the leaders of this club who expressed their open support for Barisan Nasional for the sake of political stability and economic development in Johor," said Dr Wee in a Facebook post after a dinner on Saturday (Feb 26).

       Dr Wee said the club had also expressed frustration over Pakatan Harapan not fulfilling the promises of GE14 and its poor performance while ruling the country for 22 months.
