GEORGE TOWN: On a Tuesday unlike any other, six colleagues decided to commemorate it by taking time out to pose for photos at 2.22pm on Feb 22, 2022 to remember the fleeting moment in time.

This was an interesting date that would never occur again, said real estate and property negotiator Amelia Boey, referring to the day which has been dubbed “Twosday”.

“We decided to pose for photos as a keepsake for the six of us,” said Boey, 30.

This would enable them to look back on this special moment at 2.22pm on 22/2/22, she added.

She also explained the significance of the numbers.

“Two is considered ‘love’ in Mandarin. ‘Er’ is two, which is used in the term ‘520’. In Mandarin, May 20 (520) can be read as ‘wu er ling’, which means ‘I love you’.

“The special date ‘22/2/22’ has many twos, which signifies a lot of love,” she said when met at her office in Jalan Bagan Jermal here.

Although she is single, Boey said she enjoyed seeing people celebrating their love on 22/2/22.

Property negotiator Gladys Kock, 43, who is married with three children, said for her, love is celebrated every day.

“I am not superstitious nor one to look out for special dates unless there is a sale, like on 11/11.

“But this is a memorable date that will not happen again. The last one we had was 11/1/11,” she said.

The palindrome date means that it is a sequence of numbers that reads the same forwards and backwards. It is also the same when read upside-down.

With 22/2/22 falling on a Tuesday, some folks have dubbed it “Twosday”.
