SIBU: It was a joyous moment at Semenggoh Wildlife Centre when a 26-year-old orang utan named Analisa gave birth to her fourth baby on Sunday (Jan 23).
The Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) shared the news on its Facebook page, saying that the birth was thanks to successful orang utan conservation efforts by the Sarawak state government and SFC.
"She came to the centre with the newborn baby at 3.06pm. She was last here on Friday (Jan 21)," said SFC.
It added that the baby might have been born on Saturday or Sunday as its umbilical cord was still attached.
It added that the centre is also awaiting two more deliveries from two other female orang utan, Selina and Saddamiah.
